KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 127,119 tonnes of cargo comprising 70,825 tonnes of import cargo and 56,294 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 70,825 comprised of 34,833 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 2,368 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 3,624 tonnes of Chickpeas & 30,000 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 56,294 tonnes comprised of 45,736 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 23 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 9,100 tonnes of Clinkers, 1,435 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
Nearly, 7114 containers comprising of 2573 containers import and 4540 containers export were handled on Thursday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 593 of 20’s and 861 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 129 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 733 of 20’s and 1345 of 40’s loaded containers while 339 of 20’s and 389 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Around, 06 ships namely, Global Pioneer, Kyoto Express, MT Lahore, Hyundai Integral, Libra and SSL Brahmaputra have berthed at Karachi Port.
Approximately, 07 ships namely, SSL Kaveri, Independent Spirit, Global Pioneer, Erin, Vancouver & Hyundai Integral have sailed at Karachi Port.
PORT QASIM
A total of 08 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them four ships, Theresa Orion, MSC Maria Elena, Ton Hill-II and EM Astoria left the Port (Berths) on Thursday morning.
Cargo volume of 92,847tonnes, comprising 48,200 tones imports Cargo and 44,647 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,207 Containers (1,126 TEUs Imports and 2,081 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 07 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them three ships, Vancouver, Rhine and Al-Thakhira carrying Containers, Mogas and LNG are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Elengy Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on Thursday, 1st June, & another containers ship, RDO Concord is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday, 2nd June, 2023.
