LAHORE: The Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan) and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) on Wednesday launched an online trademark filing system.
Designed by the PITB, IPO-Pakistan inaugurated an e-filing system to receive Intellectual Property (IP) applications from IP applicants and stakeholders. This initiative would also enable some added services in addition to the online filing of trademark applications, leading to cost and time savings for applicants while ensuring convenience.
In this connection, a ceremony was held here in which IPO-Pakistan DG Shazia Adnan and PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf announced the Go-Live of Trademark (TM) Online Filing System with an online payment facility.
The ceremony was attended by PITB Director Syed Nayyer Ali, and IPO-Pakistan Deputy Directors Kashif Latif Malik and Syed Anjum Raza Bokhari.
While addressing the ceremony, IPO-Pakistan DG Shazia Adnan said that IPO-Pakistan was fully committed to the provision of hassle-free services to its stakeholders, adding that the digitalization process involved tireless efforts by the IT teams of IPO-Pakistan and PITB.
She further said that due to the new Go-Live system of online IP application filing, the cost and time of filing trademark applications would considerably decrease, benefitting the applicants. Work was also underway to digitalize applications related to copyright, patent, designs and geographical indications on similar lines, she added.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf assured of his commitment to supporting IPO-Pakistan in digitalizing its service delivery processes.
