Firdous for developing stronger political system

Federal Minister for National Regulations and Services Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday underscored the need of collective efforts for developing a strong political system as well as bringing radical changes in attitude in the society for developing democratic norms in the country.
Addressing the members of Sialkot District Bar Association she said strong institutions are vital for ensuring uninterrupted socio-economic development and under the prevailing situation there is great need of promotion of democratic culture and norms in political parties for developing a strong political system for the supremacy of rule of law in the country. Without strengthening the institutions the stability of institutions of democratic institution is not possible in Pakistan, she added.
Dr Firdous disclosed that record legislation had been completed by the present Parliament and government is making strenuous efforts for providing relief to common man through legislations. She urged upon the lawyer community that they should play their role in eliminating the menace of corruption from the society. Earlier, President Sialkot District Bar Association Shahid Mir presented the address of welcome and highlighted the problems and difficulties being confronted by the lawyer community.
