Pakistan Steel awarded ISO certification

Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) has been awarded the ISO-14001:2004 certification by implementing the international standard for Environmental Management System. The certificate was awarded by Royal Cert International Registrar, Pakistan after performing a three-day surveillance of PS plants and offices.
This international standard enables an organisation to establish the systems and processes necessary to improve environment of the organisation, including energy efficiency, use and consumption of water, electricity, fire safety measures, controlling poisonous gas emissions, recycling of used items, overall cleanness, control over environmental pollution.
As a responsible corporate entity, implementation of this standard leads to reduced cost of waste management, savings in consumption of energy and materials, lower distribution costs and improve the corporate image among regulators, customers and the public through a systematic management. More over PSM also awarded OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series) and ISO-9001:2008 (Quality Management System) certificates for a period of 3 years from SGS International.-PR
