Taiwan stocks ended down 0.44 percent on Wednesday, dragged lower by defensive plays such as paper and food counters, down 1.42 percent and 1.29 percent respectively. The main TAIEX index fell 34.05 points to 7,684.63, after opening up 0.11 percent. Electronics shares edged down 0.15 percent, while banking counters lost 0.79 percent. The Taiwan dollar was up by T$0.065 to trade at T$29.32. Foreign investors were net buyers on Tuesday, picking up T$3.6 billion.
