KARACHI: The Uzbekistan government is making all efforts to increase bilateral trade with Pakistan. The ambassador of Uzbekistan is in Karachi to meet members of Chamber of Commerce and business community to discuss possibilities to further increase bilateral trade relations.
The Uzbek ambassador on Wednesday evening attended a dinner meeting in connection with Independence Day of Pakistan at the residence of Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council and former member National Assembly Engr M Najeeb Haroon.
On this occasion, the Uzbek ambassador said Pakistan and Uzbekistan enjoy very close relations however the bilateral trade between the two friendly countries is much lower than its potential.
“I am here in Karachi to meet Pakistan businessmen to discuss this matter”, he said and added that he will also meet the Sindh governor and other government officials. Engr Najeeb Haroon while welcoming the guests said that Pakistan has huge potential for investment in different sectors.
The dinner was also attended by the Chinese Consul General in Karachi Yang Yundong, Consul General of Thailand Narut Soontarodom, Turkish Consul General Cemal Sangu, Consul General of Oman Engr Sami Abdullah Al Khanjari and diplomats from other countries. A large number of businessmen, industrialists and other also attended the event.
