HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares opened with fresh gains Tuesday, extending a global rally as investors await the release of key US inflation and jobs data later in the week.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.72 percent, or 130.95 points, to 18,261.69.
The Shanghai Composite Index shed 0.22 percent, or 6.70 points, to 3,091.94, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange slipped 0.30 percent, or 5.66 points, to 1,894.84.
