Non-bailable warrants issued for arrest of Asim Malik

05 Oct, 2012

The Lahore High Court on Thursday while issuing non-bailable arrest warrants of owner of a visa consultant company Asim Malik, directed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to register cases against the firm on all complaints filed against it. The court was hearing dozens of petitions moved by affected persons of the visa consultancy firm.
Petitioners alleged that they had given money to the company's chief executive officer for going abroad but they were defrauded. They said Asim Malik neither sent them abroad nor returned their hard earned money. The court had rejected a medical certificate submitted by Malik to seek exemption from personal appearance before the court.
The court had summoned the doctor of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) who issued the medial certificate to Malik. But doctor did not turn up on many summons. The court now issued show cause notice to the doctor for committing contempt of court by ignoring the court's directions and adjourned further hearing till October 8 and directed SSP (Operations) to produce Asim Malik before the court.
