Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has directed Medical Social Officers (MSOs) to ensure redressal of the grievances of deserving patients by serving their responsibilities with honesty and commitment. While addressing the distribution of medical grant cheques here at Jinnah Hall on Friday, Salman urged upon the MSOs to use of every penny of the medical grant with a sense of accountability.
The total amount of medical grant is Rs 21.70 million, which has been released as quarterly grant. Khawaja Salman distributed 11 cheques of medical grant among the MSOs of the hospitals, which include: Lady Willingdon Hospital Rs 625,000; Lady Aitchison Hospital Rs 750,000; Children Hosptial Rs 375,000; Jinnah Hospital Rs 1,500,000; INMOL Hospital Rs 2,250,000; PIC Rs 4,500,000; Mayo Hospital 5,750,000; Shaikh Zayad Hospital Rs 1,750,000; Lahore General Hospital Rs 1,875,000; Services Hospital Rs 1,650,000 and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Rs 875,000.
Salman maintained that the welfare of poor and down trodden segment of the society is our collective responsibility. He said that there are so many philanthropists in our society who are always ready to help but they want to ensure proper utilisation of their donations. He urged upon the MSOs to complete the all legal formalities while helping the poor to ensure that no undeserving should usurp the right of the deserving. Chairman District Zakat Committee Kalifa Abdul Majeed Bhatti and District Zakat Officer Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam were also present.
