Vegetables rotting at Attari check-post

Truck drivers on Sunday expressed disappointment over official lethargy, saying vegetables meant for Pakistani market were rotting at the Attari border post. Hundreds of trucks carrying vegetables are stuck in a queue for four to five days at the Integrated Check Post (ICP).
Accusing the authorities concerned of bias, they said that officials did nothing when local drivers broke the queue and moved ahead. Trucks carrying fresh vegetables, mainly tomatoes, were lined up outside the ICP and had been waiting for days to cross the border. A truck driver, Prakash Bishnoi, said that trade relations could be ruined because of the authorities' apathy.
