Malir police on Tuesday claimed arresting five accused allegedly involved in car theft incidents in the city. Addressing a press conference, SP Malir Division Jan Mohammad Barhamani said that police arrested three persons riding a car (NWH-759) during a snap checking at Dawood Chowrangi. He identified the arrested men as Mohammad Ayaz, Syed Waqas Ali and Mohammad Waseem, and said that three pistols were seized from their possession.
He said that during initial interrogation, the accused confessed to have links with a motor-lifting gang. He said that using information provided by the accused, police had recovered six cars snatched from various parts of the city Jan Mohammad said that another police conducted a raid near the Chawal Godam in the Landhi area and arrested Mohammad Adil and Baqir Nawaz. Police also recovered two snatched motorcycles, two pistols and bullets from their possession.
