KARACHI: Abdul Ghani Usman, candidate of Businessmen Panel (BMP) for Senior Vice President in FPCCI elections, has said that all the institutions in Pakistan need to be on the right path so that investments will come to the country.
After the success in the election, we will make effective economic policies under our leadership and give them to the government so that the country s economy is not only stable, but trade and industry can also get stability, said Abdul Ghani Usman during the speech at the dinner given in his honour.
BMP s presidential candidate Muhammad Ali, vice-presidential candidate Rafiq Sulaiman, Imran Tessori, Tawqir Malik, business leader of Balochistan Naveed Baloch also spoke on this occasion.
Haji Ghani Usman said that the elected officials from the businessmen panel in the past brought their problems to the government in the better interest of the business community and got them resolved. With the full statistics, all the candidates of the businessman panel will be successful in the federation election on December 30 and will continue to serve the business community.
It is said that the businessman panel worked strongly in their interest and their problems were presented to the government in a vigorous manner, now we have to do a lot of work for the agricultural sector and the uninhabited lands will be settled by us.
Rafiq Sulaiman said that we have increased the export of rice to $2.2 billion and by the end of this financial year we are determined to increase these exports to $3 billion. Paddy does not fall on the ground nor is it stolen.
He said that many markets including Russia have been opened for Pakistani rice, we have also reached the market of China, which is a market of more than 5 lakh tons, and Pakistani rice in the African market. Rice has been covered and we will export 6 million tons of rice to Kenya. Presidential candidate Muhammad Ali said that the interest rate is 22 percent at the moment and it is very difficult to work at this rate. We will give positive figures to the government and take every association along.
Imran Tessori said that the jewellery sector has been given a chance for the first time in any position in FPCCI and I will work in the best interest of all sectors including jewellery.
Tauqeer Malik said that shipping problems of the sector are many and we will raise these problems on the platform of FPCCI.
Naved Baloch said that the panel of businessmen has presented a bouquet of best candidates for the federation election and we will make an effective government under his leadership.
