Attack on Malala is assault on nation: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the attack on the life of Malala Yousafzai was an attack on the whole nation. He prayed to Allah Almighty for Malala's early recovery. The Chief Minister said that he had met Malala Yousafzai's father in the Rawalpindi hospital on Friday to inquire about the health of his daughter.
He hoped that prayers of the entire nation would be answered and Malala would soon fully recover. Shahbaz Sharif announced that Punjab government had renamed its Attock Daanish school after Malala Yousafzai in recognition of her services and special seats would be reserved in the name of Malala Yousafzai for girl students of Swat. Talking to media persons during his visit to Okara, Shahbaz Sharif said that the people would reject thieves and looters in the coming general elections and, with the blessing of Allah Almighty, Pakistan Muslim League-N would form the next government.
He said that PML-N could enter into electoral alliances with other parities. He said that the PPP's Accountability Bill would be opposed at every forum, including the National Assembly. The Chief Minister said had if Nawaz Sharif had not played a leading role, an uncontroversial figure such as Fakhruddin G Ibrahim could not have been made the Chief Election Commissioner.
During his visit to Okara, the Chief Minister paid surprise visit to DHQ Hospital Okara and expressed annoyance over insufficient arrangements in the hospital. The Chief Minister took notice of the action against students who took out procession in favour of Malala Yousafzai and directed that FIR against the students should immediately be withdrawn, besides restoring the admissions of rusticated students.
Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif offered condolences over the death of the wife of Mian Muhammad Zaman, a senior PML-N leader, and mother of MPA Mian Muhammad Yawar Zaman at their residence. Later, the Chief Minister went to the residence of Mian Muhammad Moin Khan Wattoo, a PML-N MPA at Mauza Jamal Kot in Depalpur tehsil and condoled over the demise of his brother and offered fateha. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Provincial Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, MPAs Ali Abbas Khokhar, Javed Allauddin, Chaudhry Nadeem Abbas Rabairah and Mian Muhammad Munir.
