The Federal Minister Political Affairs, Maula Bux Chandio, who was also the Vice President of PPP Sindh chapter, has termed present propaganda against the PPP launched before general election a conspiracy to divide the vote bank of Sindhi people.
He appealed to nationalists and opponent parties not to put the people of Sindh on the path of confrontation as Sindh could not afford such situation, especially at this stage. This, he said, while talking to the media at the Jalsagah, where he arrived to inspect the arrangements of the public meeting to be held today by PPP in Hyderabad.
He said that PPP doesn't believe in violence, it was purely a political party and political parties believe in dialogue. He said that those who don't have justification, want to enforce their ideas by force and in democratic society force is not acceptable to any one.
Responding a question he said when we had struggled for the restoration of democracy in 1980s when country was in the clutches of dictator, he added.
He said that when we can bring the amendments in the Constitution of Pakistan then we can also amend the present law of local government through dialogue with opposition parties. He hoped that no one take law into his hand to create hindrances for public participation in the meeting
Sindh Minister for Fishries Zahid Ali Bhurgri said that the ground developed for Jalsagah have capacity to accommodate up to 400,000 people. He said that more than 60,000 chairs so far have been made available in the ground in addition to large number of mats/carpets to provide sitting facilities up to 3 lac people. He said that this jalsa would be proved as milestone for the success of PPP in forthcoming election. He said, "we are considering this public meeting as campaign for mass contact and subsequently after Eid-ul-Azha, we would hold another big public gathering in other area of Sindh and so on.
