Blasts create panic in Multan

Two blasts occurred here at Nag Shah Chowk here on Saturday creating panic among people. However, no loss of life and property was reported. According to bomb disposal squad in-charge Maqsood, two bombs packed in shopping bags were placed in a dumping site of building material which was owned by a local shopkeeper namely Muhammad Arshad.
The explosions developed small crater. The second blast occurred after five minutes of the first. According to bomb disposal squad, one and one and half kilogram of explosive material was used in both the blasts. Remote-controlled device was used for explosions, said Maqsood. According to SP Cantt Mansoor, police have cordoned off the areas and started investigation.
Former Prime Minster Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has cancelled his visit to Multan following explosions in the area. However, according to the latest details, his son Abdul Qadir Gilani will now address the rally. A bomb was recovered near the rally point of former Prime Minster Gilani where he was scheduled to address Pakistan People's Party (PPP) workers in Nagshah area of Multan on Sunday.
