A three days national immunisation campaign started in Kurram Agency here wherein 125,769 kids under five years of age would be vaccinated. Field Surveillance Medical Officer (FSMO), Dr Hameed Ali told media here that the vaccination campaign has been kicked off in Kurram Agency as per country-wise plan to eradicate this crippling disease.
In addition to 104 area supervisors, 446 special teams, 375 mobile and 50 permanent teams have been constituted that will go house to house to vaccinate children. He said about one million children would be given anti-polio drops in FATA. He appealed to the parents to vaccinate their children against polio and protect them from permanent disability.
