16 Oct, 2012

Pakistan on Monday named wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal to lead the side's defence of the Hong Kong Super Sixes title later this month. Pakistan face arch-rivals India, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands in Pool B of the eight-team tournament, with Australia, England, South Africa and Hong Kong in Pool A.
Pakistan beat England in last year's final to secure their fifth title in the tournament, first staged in 1992. All-rounder Abdul Razzaq, who led Pakistan to title triumph in the last edition, has now been overlooked for the Honk Kong Sixes assignment in the latest edition. Captaining the team, Razzaq smashed 63 not out off 17 deliveries to help Pakistan set an imposing target of 155 against England in the final last year, where the later failed to reach the target scoring 120 runs in response. The event will be held on October 27 and 28. The teams consist of six players with one player as substitute. Squad: Kamran Akmal (captain), Umar Akmal, Owais Zia, Hammad Azam, Yasir Shah, Junaid Khan, Tanveer Ahmed.
