LAHORE: The Federal Seed Certification & Registration Department (FSC&RD) has launched MIS-based digital seed company registration and seed processing plant registration modules on its MIS portal aimed at providing better regulatory services.
The launch of these MIS-based modules is part of the efforts being made by the FSC&RD to ensure the provision of quality seeds to the farming community. For better provisioning of regulatory services, FSC&RD last year launched the MIS-based Seed Certification System.
Muhammad Azam Khan, Director-General of the Federal Seed Certification & Registration Department (FSC&RD), launched the MIS-based digital seed company registration and seed processing plant registration modules on the MIS portal at a ceremony held in Islamabad, says a press release.
Nazar Iqbal, Director Seed Registration, FSC&RD, while briefing the participants, said that this newly developed MIS-based digital seed company registration module has important features like a user-friendly interface with proper guidelines, fast-track name availability confirmation, transparent and swift processing of applications, unbiased & end-to-end closed processing, automation with enhanced efficiency, proper verification mechanism, minimum in-person visits to the offices, and digitalized database compilation.
Dr Muhammad Amir Maqbool briefed on the entire workflow of the portal for Seed Company and processing plant registration. He further added that the MIS portal is helping to know the SOPs & prerequisites of registration, step-by-step application filling guidelines, confirmation of name availability, alerts for changes and renewal timeline, digital compilation of company progress, and provision of further changes in the infrastructure & resources of the company. The entire senior management and officers of the Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department and Plant Breeders Rights Registry participated in the launching ceremony.
In his concluding remarks, the Director General appreciated the contribution of the MIS development team. The Director General also motivated the staff to continue the momentum of progress towards achieving the national goals of food security through seed security.
