ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan will actively seek to enhance trade, forge economic partnership, and attract foreign investment through bilateral cooperation and engagements with other countries by making no compromise on its core national interest.
The prime minister was addressing an iftaar dinner hosted by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in honour of the diplomatic corps.
In his address to the gathering, the prime minister also reiterated Pakistan firm support to the just right of Palestinian people to self determination.
The prime minister also welcomed the UN Security Council recent resolution on Gaza, saying Pakistan will sincerely continue its efforts to implement the Council resolution in letter and spirit immediately as well as brutalities against the people of Palestine must end forthwith.
Prime Minister Shehbaz, on behalf of the people of Pakistan, also reaffirmed unwavering solidarity with the people of the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Referring to his government economic agenda, the prime minister added that economic revival, governance reforms, and uplift of the people of Pakistan are his government top agenda.
He vowed to achieve the accelerated development by mobilising the country full national potential.
To transom challenges into opportunities, he added that Pakistan will actively seek to enhance trade, forge economic partnership, and attract foreign investment through bilateral cooperation and engagements with other countries.
However, there will be no compromise on our core national interest, on the safety and security of our people and on territorial integrity as well as sovereignty, he stated emphatically.
He also stated that as a peace-loving nation, Pakistan desires friendly relations with all members of the international community and enmity with none.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also stated that Pakistan Constitution guarantees equal rights to its citizens without any discrimination and allow all including minorities to practice their religion and belief freely. This aspect of our society also needs to be highlighted, he added.
