Activities of Karachi Port Trust and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 102,725 tonnes of cargo comprising 48,447 tonnes of import cargo and 54,278 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 Hours.

The total import cargo of 48,447 comprised of 22,049 tonnes of Containerized Cargo and 26,398 tonnes of Liquid Cargo.

The total export Cargo of 54,278 comprised of 27,448 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 11,630 tonnes of Clinkers & 15,200 tonnes of Liquid Cargo.

  • Nearly, 4195 containers comprising of 1528 containers import and 2667 containers export were handled on Wednesday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 376 of 20’s and 629 of 40’s loaded while 94 of 20’s and 00 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 684 of 20’s and 446 of 40’s loaded containers while 35 of 20’s and 528 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

About 02 ships, namely Kmtc Delhi & Mt Shalamar berth at the Karachi Port Trust.

Around, 05 ships namely One Matrix, Xin Ning Bo, Apl Phoenix, Onur GA & Sm Tianjin sailed from the Karachi Port Trust.

PORT QASIM

A total of seven ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them three ships, Wide Alpha, Maersk Yorktown and Jessie left the port in the morning.

Meanwhile two more ships, Clyde and White Peach are expected to sail today afternoon.

Cargo volume of 100,405 tonnes, comprising 55,631 tonnes imports cargo and 44,774 tonnes export cargo carried in 3,694 Containers (1,787 TEUs Imports and 1,907 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There are 06 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them five ships, Maersk Cape Town, MSC Roma, Ionic Artemis, PH Giang Minh and Huang Shan-16 & another ship, Sea Ambition scheduled to load/offload Container, Fuel oil, Palm Kernel, Palm oil and Mogas are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO, MW-I, LCT and EVTL on 07th May, 2024
