Met Office forecasts rain in upper parts of country

A fresh westerly wave is expected to affect upper parts of the country from Friday under which isolated rain/thunderstorm is likely to hit upper Punjab, upper KP, Kohat, Bannu divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Friday. Dry weather expected elsewhere in the country, Meteorological department said on Thursday. In its daily weather report, it said isolated rain/thunderstorm is likely in upper Punjab, upper KP, Kohat, Bannu divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during next 48 hours.
Meanwhile, weather has become cold in the upper regions as minimum temperature dropped to 1.1 degree Celsius at Skardu 2.4 C at Astore, 03 C at Kalat, 04 C at Quetta, 06.5 C at Samungli, 06 C at Dir, and 04 C at Kalam. Minimum temperature in Lahore has fallen to 18.0 C whereas Murree has become the coldest place in Punjab.
