Activities of Karachi Port Trust and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 124,432 tonnes of cargo comprising 67,802 tonnes of import cargo and 56,630 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 67,802 comprised of 67,802 tonnes of Containerized Cargo.

The total export Cargo of 56,630 comprised of 31,712 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 13,718 tonnes of Clinkers & 11,200 tonnes of Liquid Cargo.

Nearly, 7118 containers comprising of 3970 containers import and 3148 containers export were handled on Thursday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 1657 of 20’s and 1002 of 40’s loaded while 05 of 20’s and 152 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 675 of 20’s and 652 of 40’s loaded containers while 221 of 20’s and 474 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

As many as, 07 ships namely, Wide Alpha, Msc Positano, MT Mardan, Contship Ono, Independent Spirit, Pride & CmaCgm Congo berth at the Karachi Port Trust.

Around, 02 ships namely, Ktmc Delhi & Contship Ono sailed from the Karachi Port Trust.

PORT QASIM

A total of eight ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them a containers ship ‘MSC ROma’ left the port on today morning. Meanwhile six more ships, Maersk Cape Town, One Modern, Atlantic Ibis, Ullswater, Sea Ambition and White Peach are expected to sail on Thursday.

Cargo volume of 98,211 tonnes, comprising 41,828 tonnes imports cargo and 56,383 tonnes export cargo carried in 4,230 Containers (2,260 TEUs Imports and 1,970 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There are 07 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them five ships, Huang Shan-16, Spring Oasis, Ginga Caracal, Atlantic Ibis and One Modern & another ship, APL Qingdao carrying Palm oil, Coal, Chemicals, and Container are expected to take berths at LCT, PIBT, EVTL and QICT on 08 May, 2024.
