A four-member World Bank team led by Country Director Rachid Benmassaoud on Thursday had a meeting with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at CM House. The meeting was attended among others by Senior Economist Hamid Mukhtar, Senior Economist Dushayaout Raju, Operation Analyst Ayesha Ahmed, Additional Chief Secretary (P&D) Malik Israr, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Arif Khan, Secretary to CM Sindh Agha Jan Akhtar and others.
The Chief Minister gave brief account of various projects and schemes of Sindh province, and said that due to continuous floods and heavy rains, the province has received huge losses and people had suffered a lot. Syed Qaim Ali Shah appreciated the role of World Bank in its programmes of assistance for sectors of Irrigation, Education, Agriculture, Health, Water Management and others.-PR
