ISLAMABAD: A local court on Thursday reserved its verdict on the acquittal plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan in two cases registered against him in connection with the May 9 incidents.

Judicial Magistrate Umer Shabir, while hearing the case, reserved his judgment over the acquittal plea of Khan in two cases registered in Shehzad Town police station in the connection with May 9 protests.

The PTI founder’s lawyers, Sardar Masroof and Mirza AsimBaig argued before the court over Khan’s acquittal application before the court.

The lawyer told the court that his client was under arrest on May 9 when these cases were registered against him.

“Khan was neither present on the spot nor he issued any video message regarding the staging of protest,” he said.
