ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Core Committee expressed grave concerns over the extraordinary acceleration in the hearing of the false, fabricated and baseless Al-Qadir Trust case against PTI Founding Chairman Imran Khan, fearing that the processing the case was speeded up to sentence him unlawfully and unconstitutional in the case to prolong his imprisonment.

PTI Core Committee members were briefed pertaining to the meeting of PTI Founding Chairman with the party leaders in Adiala Jail.

The forum held a thorough discussion on the party's administrative matters, political strategy and future action plan in the meeting.

PTI Core Committee meeting expressed apprehensions that Imran Khan could be sentenced in Al-Qadir Trust, the way he was awarded unconstitutional sentences in Cipher and Toshakhana cases.

During the meeting, they discussed in detail the situation of the by-election in NA-148 Constituency in Multan scheduled for May 19.

They expressed hope that PTI’s candidate victory in the by-election was certain with a margin of 40,000 to 50,000 votes. However, the penal stated that like the previous by-elections, plots were being made to alter the PTI clear victory into defeat by forcibly getting signature from the returning officers on Form 45.

It strongly condemned the shameful attempts of pre-polls rigging under the nose of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), which miserably failed in fulfilling its constitutional duty of conducting free, impartial and transparent elections.

The forum vehemently denounced the ongoing attempts to deprive Imran Khan and his spouse of justice through unfair trials of their cases.

PTI Core Committee stated that PTI Founding Chairman and Bushra Bibi were being subjected to worse vindictive politics by unjustly delaying the false, baseless, absurd and fabricated Iddat case under one or another pretext.

They urged that the requirements of fair trial in the false cases against Imran Khan should be fulfilled by providing him legal right.

The participants demanded that PTI Founding Chairman’s medical examination and all his medical tests should be conducted through trustworthy doctors from Shaukat Khanum Hospital in the light of the court order.
