At least two personnel of security forces were killed and ten others, including a woman, injured in a roadside blast here on Friday, police said. The incident took place on the main Sariab Road near Chaki Shahwani graveyard. Deputy Inspector General Investigation Hamid Shakeel told APP that unknown men detonated explosive material planted on a bicycle through a remote control when the vehicles of security forces were passing by the area.
Two security forces personnel were killed and ten others, including a woman and four security forces men, suffered injuries. "Two of our personnel were martyred and four others wounded in the attack," an FC official confirmed to APP, adding that the condition of one of the injured was critical.
The police and FC reached the site soon after the blast and shifted the FC men to the Combined Military Hospital and the others to the Civil Hospital. According to a Civil Defence expert, 8 to 10 kg explosive material was used with large size cylindrical bearings, which exploded with a remote control. Eye witnesses said that the blast had damaged several vehicles, including those of security forces, and nearby buildings.
