ER project sets up livestock mandi in Mian Gujjar

EU/UNDP funded Early Recovery (ER) project for flood affected small farmers held a Livestock Mandi in the Union Council, Mian Gujjar, Peshawar. The project is being implemented under the auspices of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda).
The Mandi was started from September 30, 2012 and till now the four mandies have been organised," said Mohsin Hashim, Business Support Centre Co-ordinator (BSCC) Peshawar, on Friday. The purpose of the Mandi is to develop the business of live stock in the area and its surroundings. He said that the area has big potential for livestock business, but none of the government institutions to recognise livestock Mandi present in the union council or near it.
He said that ER project with the participation of local community decided to hold an officially recognised livestock Mandi in the union council. This Mandi will be under the supervision of the Town Municipal Administration (TMA), Town-II of the City District.
