ADP 2012-13: chief minister Sindh presides over meeting to review implementation

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Friday presided over a meeting at Chief Minister House to review the implementation and follow up of ADP-2012-13 by Planning and Development and Finance departments. Shah directed that maximum number of on-going schemes be completed in all respects and quality be maintained.
He stressed upon monitoring cell of Planning & Development Department to accelerate efforts and all completed schemes be monitored and if there is sub-standard or less quality work, the action will be taken against involved persons. He directed that utilisation of funds and implementation of schemes be ensured and improved, while the Finance department must ensure timely follow-up for timely release of funds for those projects.
He added that priority be given to on-going schemes. The meeting was informed that the ADP of Sindh for the year 2012-13 is Rs 161.00 billion and in view of various aspects, the P&D and Finance department finalised schemes worth Rs 60.000 billions for the province.
It is stated that so far half of the amount has been released. It was said that inspite of provision of funds to SEs and XENs, there is slow utilisation of funds. It was informed that in view of funding, it is expected that 700 on-going schemes will be completed by the end of current financial year and it is expected that 450 to 500 schemes are to be completed by February 2013. The meeting was informed that there are in all 1288 on-going schemes in Sindh province. The meeting also reviewed allocations, amount released and expenditure so far made in various sectors.-PR
