NRL's profit after tax down by Rs 802.392 million

The profit after tax of National Refinery Limited has reduced to Rs 802.392 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 828.308 million in the corresponding period in 2011. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on October 18, 2012 declared that the company's earning per share stood at Rs 10.03 in the period under review against Rs 10.36 in the same period last year.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, the company's gross sales increased to Rs 53.418 billion in this quarter against Rs 43.794 billion in the same quarter last year. The company paid Rs 9.382 billion as trade discounts, taxes, duties and levies in this quarter against Rs 6.187 billion paid in the same account in the same period last year.
The company's cost of sales increased to Rs 42.435 billion in this quarter against Rs 36.092 billion in the same quarter last year. The company's profit before taxation reduced to Rs 1.272 billion in this quarter against Rs 1.324 billion in the same quarter last year.
