Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has resolved/disposed of a record number of 5145 complaints against gas utility companies of domestic, industrial and commercial consumers in the fiscal year 2011-12. Apart from convenience, the decisions taken in these cases have given relief of about Rs 34.6 million to gas consumers, says a press release issued here on Friday.
These complaints against the gas utility companies were related to over-billing, delay in provision of gas connections, gas leakage, faulty meter and service standard etc. The Ogra established under Ogra Ordinance, 2002, is mandated to protect the interest of all stakeholders including consumers, while regulating the mid and downstream of oil and gas sectors.-PR
