YDA demands uniform salaries for all doctors

22 Oct, 2012

Young Doctors Association (YDA) have criticised the discrepancy in salaries of Lahore University graduate house officers and their regular counterparts at Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital Multan Road and Dental Hospital at Raiwind Road.
The house officers of Lahore university were paid a salary of Rs14000 per month, while other house officers were paid Rs24000 a month, which was a sheer violation of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) regulations, YD office-bearers said. They said that the Commissioner of Social Security Hospital, Multan Road and Chairman of University Of Lahore needed to equalise salaries of all doctors. If this was not done till Eid, YDA would be forced to launch a protest campaign. These announcements were made by the YDA Pakistan General Secretary Dr Salman Kazmi in a meeting held at Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital, Multan Road.
