LAHORE: Anti-Terrorism Court on Tuesday granted seven-day physical remand of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) leader Maulana Muhammad Tahir Saifi to police in a case of inciting people against the Chief Justice Pakistan (CJP) and asked the police to produce him again on August 06.

Earlier, the police presented the accused before the court and investigating officer played videos of his speech in the court. The court asked the suspect that he seemed very passionate in his speeches. “Is this your speech?” the court asked the accused who responded in affirmative.

The court also asked him as to why he was speaking against the CJP.

“We are advising the Chief Justice to be cautious. There is still an opportunity for the Chief Justice to reconsider his decision,” said Maulana Saifi.

The investigating officer informed the court that a photogrammetric test needed to be conducted on the suspect and a microphone needed to be recovered, for which physical remand was necessary.

The court allowed the police a seven-day physical remand of the suspect accordingly.
