KARACHI: She Loves Tech, the world’s largest women-led startup competition, launched its Karachi round, organized by CIRCLE Women Association with Unilever Pakistan Ltd as a venue partner, Startup Syndicate as a round partner, and Sapphire as the merchandise partner.
The competition brought together innovative women-led tech startups, industry experts, and ecosystem collaborators. The event saw the participation of 8 shortlisted women-led startups competing for a chance to compete in the National Finale in August. The winners of the National Finale will advance to the She Loves Tech South Asian Regional Round.
The event was also graced by Amir Paracha, CEO at Unilever Pakistan Ltd, Sadaffe Abid, CEO and Founder at CIRCLE Women Association, along with an esteemed panel of judges. The panel of judges included Atyab Tahir - Co Founder & CEO at HugoBank, Jehan Ara - CEO at Katalyst Labs, Ahmed Ayub - Chief Strategy Officer of Conrad Labs, Majida Maya Malik - Head of Product Growth at SpurSol, Shameem Rajani – COO of Genetech Solutions, and Maha Shahzad -Founder of BusCaro.
This year's event marked the 8th edition of She Loves Tech in Pakistan. She Loves Tech Pakistan has established itself as a premier platform for women-led tech startups, offering customized workshops, mentorship initiatives, and access to a diverse network of mentors and ecosystem collaborators.
While talking about the event and the importance it upholds Sadaffe Abid, Founder and CEO of CIRCLE Women Association said, “With Pakistan ranking low on the gender gap index and only 1% of entrepreneurs being women, She Loves Tech Pakistan plays a vital role in supporting women-led tech startups.”
She further added that “We at CIRCLE aim to inspire women and girls to pursue their tech dreams and contribute to a more inclusive and successful nation.”
As a keynote speaker at the event, Amir Paracha, CEO-Unilever Pakistan, emphasized the pivotal role of entrepreneurship and technology as catalysts for progress and innovation. CIRCLE Women Association is dedicated to building a thriving community for women entrepreneurs and female-led startups in Pakistan. Through platforms like She Loves Tech, the organization aims to uplift innovation, drive growth, and sustain a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem.
