A sessions court in Karachi on Friday granted bail to Natasha Danish, the driver booked in the Karsaz accident case, after the victims’ family said they had pardoned the suspect.

“We forgive her in the name of Allah, who is the Most Merciful and Compassionate,” the affidavit stated.

The family said they had no objection to granting bail to the suspect as the accident that happened “was not committed purposely”.

Aggrieved party’s lawyer denies blood money was paid, says Natasha Danish pardoned ‘in the name of Allah’

“We have given this no-objection certificate without any pressure,” the affidavit read.

Moreover, the aggrieved party’s lawyer, Barrister Aziz Ghouri, denied that diyat (blood money) was paid to the family.

Meanwhile, the judge granted the suspect bail against Rs100,000 worth of surety bond. The hearing has been adjourned till Monday.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), a copy of which is available with Business Recorder, a Toyota Land Cruiser rammed into a motorcycle, causing serious injuries to Imran Arif and his daughter Amna Arif.

Both the father and daughter succumbed to the injuries. The FIR was registered on the complaint of Imtiaz Arif, whose brother and niece died in the accident.

The police arrested the driver and booked her on multiple charges. Later, a Karachi city court sent Natasha to jail on 14-day judicial remand.

During the investigation, Natasha’s husband, Danish Iqbal, was also named as a suspect. However, he was later granted protective pre-arrest bail by the Sindh High Court.
