LAHORE: The Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA) has elected new office-bearers for the term of 2024-26 including Abdul Hameed as Zonal Chairman, Hazar Khan as Senior Vice-Chairman and Tariq Mahmood Bhatti as Vice-Chairman of the North Zone Office.
The all members of the new Zonal Executive Committee were elected unopposed, including Ahmad Mansha, Muhammad Amin, Fahim Muhammad Akram, M Shaheen Tabassum, Muhammad Imran Latif, Mohsin Jawaid, Javaid Aslam, Hafiz Rashid Mahmood, Razi Ahmed, Ch Asif Hussain and Ch Muhammad Arshad.
The new Executive Committee expressed the confidence that it will make all efforts to work selflessly in resolving issues and problems faced by the industry in the best interests of PHMA members and in further enhancing and boosting the exports.
PHMA outgoing Central Chairman Nahid Abbas and Zonal Chairman Farrukh Iqbal congratulated the new body and hoped that it would continue its efforts for the industry’s growth.
Newly-elected Zonal Chairman Abdul Hameed said that the knitwear apparel maintained the highest exports share, remaining at top of exports statistics every year despite adverse factors such as liquidity crunch and high costs of doing business. He pledged that the new body would accord top priority in reduction of input cost, resolution of refund issues and a favourable environment for the promotion of knitwear industry.
The new Senior Vice-Chairman Hazar Khan and Vice-Chairman Tariq Mahmood Bhatti said that the growth of value-added textile industry was a must to steer the overall economic growth of the country.
