Governor Sindh for issuance of arms licences to traders

Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has directed Inspector General of Police (IGP) and CCPO Karachi to arrange mobile phone locators in shortest possible time and issuance of arms license to the business community. He gave these orders during a meeting with representatives of business community here on Friday.
The Governor also directed the concerned officials to immediately depute additional police force of 500 personnel in old city and industrial areas to combat crimes, besides allocating additional mobiles vans and motorcycles and establish police pickets at entry and exit points of the markets and industrial areas. He further ordered to establish community policing in all commercial and industrial areas in collaboration with CPLC on or before November 15.
The governor assured business community that he was ready to have daily meeting with business community until the desired results were achieved. Governor has also ordered the Home Secretary to issue arms license to the members of business community in order to combat the criminals and bhatta mafia. CPLC chief pointed out that one mobile phone locator would reach in November following which the phone calls of the criminals could be monitored. S M Muneer and Mian Zahid Hussain demanded of the Governor to establish an I.T. Experts Cell which should be provided access to the phone calls data of the cell phone companies.
The Governor told the high officials present on the occasion that follow up of the instructions issued would be made on November 15, and if the orders were not be fully implemented the officials concerned would be held responsible. S M Muneer while expressing his concern over the deteriorating law and order situation said that the business community was not ready to bear the ordeal any more and considering shutting its business.
Acting President Federation of Pakistan Chambers and Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Haroon Rashid, said that if the situation was not improved the stakeholders would be compelled to give strike call on November 8, 2012. Besides Haroon Rashid and S M Muneer, the meeting was also attended by Mian Zahid Hussain, Senator Hasseb Khan, Shakil Dhingra, Iqbal Pakwala, Zakaria Usman, Mohammad Zubair Chhaya, Siraj Kassam Teli, Zubair Motiwala, Haroon Agar, Dr Arshad Vohra, Farhanur Rehman, Idrees Gigi, Ziad Basher, Syed Iqtida Ali, Shaukat Ahmed, Aslam Riaz, Rehan Zeeshan and Atiq Mir.
