NYSE to remain shut due to storm

The New York Stock Exchange was closed on Monday and would remain shut down for a second day Tuesday as Hurricane Sandy bore down on the city, threatening high winds and flooding. "We intend to re-open our US markets on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, conditions permitting; updates will be provided tomorrow," exchange operator NYSE Euronext said in a statement Monday afternoon.
