Pak-US Tech Investment Conference held: CBD Punjab highlights investment potential in IT sector

LAHORE: At the landmark Pakistan-US Tech Investment Conference held at Stanford University, CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin joined via Skype to present NSIT City highlighting the vast investment opportunities within Pakistan’s burgeoning IT sector.

As Pakistan’s largest planned IT city NSIT City spans an impressive 800 acres set to be divided into specialized zones: IT City, Film City, and Education District.

The conference organised by the Pakistani Consulate in Los Angeles in collaboration with the Ministry of IT & Telecom, Ministry of Commerce, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) attracted a diverse audience of American investors Pakistani American entrepreneurs and tech professionals. Supported by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh and Consul General Asim Ali Khan the event underscored Pakistan’s potential for innovation and development in the global IT landscape.

In his presentation CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin provided an in-depth briefing on NSIT City’s key projects including the Celestia IT Tower, Film City, Education Block and Silicon Block. He highlighted the rapid progress being made stating that 80 percent of the Silicon Block and 100 percent of the Education Block are now. CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin emphasised NSIT City is designed as a hub for tech innovation, tailored to attract global investment with its state-of-the-art facilities and streamlined policies.

The conference culminated with an initial commitment exceeding $20 million from American companies, many led by Pakistani American entrepreneurs. This commitment marks a significant milestone for Pakistan's IT sector, strengthening ties between US investors and Pakistan’s technology infrastructure.

The CBD NSIT City is poised to become central players in Pakistan’s technological growth, bridging international investment with Pakistan’s dynamic IT ambitions and setting a strong foundation for future US-Pakistan collaboration in technology and innovation.
