International conference on dengue on November 10

In order to acknowledge the tireless efforts of the government departments, enthusiastic participation by the people and the civil society and close co-operation and assistance of international experts for controlling dengue menace, in a short span of time, the Punjab government will organise two-day international conference on dengue in Lahore on November 10 and 11 to be participated by the renowned medical experts and entomologists from abroad.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Kh. Salman Rafique held a meeting, to review the arrangements of the conference. Besides public representatives from Lahore, secretaries, special secretaries and senior officers of various government departments, including Health, Education, Information and Culture, Rescue 1122, Police, and Local Government, as well as Commissioner and DCO Lahore, also attended the meeting. During the meeting, different responsibilities have been assigned to various departments, Commissioner and DCO Lahore for making this historic event a thumping success.
It was informed that the international experts were astonished over the historic achievement of controlling worst ever dengue epidemic in a very short span of time by the Punjab government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, with the active participation of general public and government departments. Kh. Salman Rafique said that international experts are coming Lahore to admire and acknowledge the efforts of Chief Minister Punjab. These experts are from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and other counties. The main function and the inaugural session of two-day conference will be held on 10th November, at Awan-e-Iqbal, in which Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, will be the chief guest.
