Makai, Juwar prices fall on grain market

Makai and Juwar prices were down on the wholesale grain market on Thursday in the process of modest trading, dealers said. On the cereals side, most of the commodity items tended lower as a result of easy supply, Makai shed Rs 2575 and Rs 2600, Juwar followed same pattern, losing Rs 50 to Rs 2250-2300, Urad Burma was lower by Rs 100 to Rs 2800, wheat old Bardan and wheat new Bardan were slightly up by Rs 10 to Rs 3010-3050, they said.
On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh low type drifted lower by Rs 60 to Rs 3190 and good type came down after dropping Rs 50 to Rs 3250, other items maintained their overnight levels in slow trading, dealers said. On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh (Old) low variety held the overnight level at Rs 400 while the best type gained Rs 50 Rs 500, cottonseeds oilcake with bag (new) quoted at Rs 950, they said. Prices were unchanged on the grams side, they said.
