Activities of Karachi Port and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 427,121 tonnes of cargo comprising 239,280 tonnes of import cargo and 187,841 tonnes of export cargo during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.

The total import cargos of 239,200 tonnes comprised of 135,616 tonnes of containerised cargo, 777 tonnes of bulk cargo, 3622 tonnes of chickpeas, 17,515 tonnes of and 81,750 tonnes of oil & liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 187,841 tonnes comprised of 93,915 tonnes of containerised cargo; 72,126 tonnes of clinkers; 50 tonnes of bulk cargo and 21,750 tonnes of oil & liquid cargo.

There were ten vessels Ever Exxcel, Atina, Spar Lynx, CMA CGM Fort Diamant, X-press Salveen, CMA CGM Pegasus, M. T. Sargodha, Ever Utile, Celsius New Orleans and MSC Odssa V carrying containers, tankers and clinkers currently at the berths.

There were twelve ships namely Sky Blue, MSC Nerissa, Ji Xian Song Jaru Bhum, GSL Nicoletta, Safeen Power, Xin Fu Zhou, Hicri Kaan, M. T. Marda Navios Unite, Xpress Salveen and Celsius New Orleans sailed out to sea during the reported period.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 189,214 tonnes comprising of 126,807 tonnes of import cargo and 62,407 tonnes of export cargo including 5271 loaded and empty containers (3081 TEUs imports and 2,190 export), was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 126,807 tonnes includes 52,377 tonnes of containerised cargo; 48,426 tonnes of coal; 10,378 tonnes of LNG; 7822 tonnes of palm oil, 7,504 tonnes of mogas and 300 tonnes of LPG.

The total export cargo of 62,407 tonnes includes 37,230 tonnes of containerised cargo, 17,403 tonnes of rice and 7704 tonnes of H.S.F.O.

There are 24 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them six ships MSC Nerissa, SSI Resolute, Navigator, Luna, Lsiil, Yasa Amirhan and Darya Jaya carrying container lentis Peas, chemicals, LNG and coal are expected to take berth at QICT, FAP, EVTL, PGPCL MW-4 and PIBT respectively on Monday 23rd December, 2024.
