LAHORE: On the instructions of former Prime Minister of Pakistan and President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique visited Gangaram Hospital, inquire about the health of 9-year-old child Abdul Rehman, who is suffering from thalassemia and is undergoing treatment there.
The vice-chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, MS Gangaram Hospital Prof. Arif, Prof. Naveed, Prof. of Radiology and others were also present.
Khawaja Salman Rafique directed the concerned doctors to provide better treatment and care to the child.
Moreover, the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education has sent a requisition to the Punjab Public Service Commission for the recruitment of 456 Head Nurses of Grade 17 on the vacant posts. Requisition has also been sent to the Punjab Public Service Commission for the recruitment of 113 Nursing Instructors/Clinical Nursing Instructors/Deputy Nursing Superintendents of Grade 17. A requisition has also been sent to the Punjab Public Service Commission for the recruitment of 32 Chief Nursing Instructors/Principals/Vice Principals of Grade 18. Recently, the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education has recruited 3000 charge nurses through the Punjab Public Service Commission.
Punjab Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood said that the recruitment of large number of nurses will be strengthened for the improvement of the nursing sector. The shortage of doctors and nurses in government hospitals of Punjab is being filled on priority basis, he added.
