Another ‘UFO’ sighting have sparked rumors and created curiosity among people after Google Earth showed a picture of a weird object buried in an avalanche on an island near Antarctica.
A popular YouTube video channel ‘SecureTeam10’ showed a video in which the narrator claimed that a picture of South Georgia Island taken from Google Earth showed the remains of a UFO that crashed to Earth on a side of a mountain and slid a long distance across the ice. The video immediately crossed more than 760,000 views and people started to take the ‘thing’ as a UFO.
“It almost appears as if something has crash landed on the snowy surface below," narrator Tyler Glockner speculated. He also said that the object could be a submarine stuck in the snow.
Here’s what aliens might look like, if they exist
However, according to Science Alert, when zoomed out, the trail of the skidded objects goes back to the mountain peak at the foot of which seems to be a mass of disturbed snow. Geologist, Richard Waller explained that it was just the ‘Earth being Earth’ and no aliens or submarine, and this is even obvious to even a casual observer.
“It looks to me as though this feature is related to a large avalanche from a nearby mountain. Part of a hanging glacier appears to have collapsed [and] you can see the avalanche debris at the foot of the slope. This could be a large block of ice that has traveled further as a consequence. The track shows that it’s sliding over a snow-covered glacier before it comes to a rest,” he told The Daily Mail.
However, as Mirror wrote, some people viewing the video believed it to be a UFO as one person commented, “Looks like it crashed into the mountain, then whatever it was drove away from the crash site?” Some even related the rumored UFO to be related to North Korea as one of them said that it could be wayward fired by North Korean despot Kim Jong-un. Whereas, some of them joked about it as another commenter wrote, “Santa had a little too much to drink”.
