ANP activist among six killed in Buner blast

Six people including an activist of ANP and chief of a local peace committee and his three guards were killed in a suicide blast in Daggar, headquarters of district Buner on Saturday. According to police the blast occurred outside the residence of Fateh Khan, a local leader of ANP, killing his three guards.
After the explosion, rescue teams rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police, Malakand Division, it was a suicide blast and the bomber was riding a motorcycle. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar has strongly condemned the suicide attack and expressed his deep shock and sorrow over the loss of precious lives.
In his condolence message, the Governor particularly mentioned the martyrdom of prominent social figure of the area and the head of the peace Jirge of Swat, Fateh Khan and described it a big loss for the area. Expressing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families, the governor said that the elements involved in the inhuman and cruel act of terrorism will be brought to justice.
Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussain also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the killing of Fateh Khan and others and termed the blast an inhuman and cruel act. In a condolence message, he expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives saying that Pakhtun nation has rendered matchless sacrifices in the war on terror.
