All-rounder Abdul Razzaq is neither tax defaulter nor tax evader rather he is regularly paying his tax liabilities as a responsible citizen of the country. Sources close to Abdul Razzaq told Business Recorder that national hero is paying all his tax liabilities regularly; hence, no question arises of being a tax evader.
According to the sources, PCB deducts tax on players salaries and match fees at source while Razzaq had already paid due amount of tax from amount he earned from commercials. It may be noted that as per media reports, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) sent to four senior cricketers including Abdul Razzaq for clearing tax liabilities. As per reports, the notices were served on these four cricketers as they didn''''t pay taxes on income they earned from commercials, their annual contracts and other sources which are around 80 million rupees. Some Pakistan''''s cricketers are the highest earners in the country, with senior players receiving a base salary of about 313,000 rupees, and match payments of 375,000 rupees for test matches and 275,000 rupees for one day internationals.
