Private airline fined for delay

Saudi Airport Authorities have imposed a fine of some 60,000 riyals on a private Pakistani airline for flight delay. Shaheen Air''s flight got delayed by over 24 hours causing severe hardships to the Hajj pilgrims. Pakistan Hujjaj travelling through Shaheen Airline are facing problems at Jeddah Airport due to hours-long flight delay.
During a visit of Jeddah Hajj terminal, passengers complained that flight No NL-2117 of Shaheen Air got delayed due to unavailability of the aircraft, which had to arrive from Peshawar. "We have been informed that the aircraft has been technically grounded at Peshawar and we are waiting since last night for flight," a passenger Akbar Khan said. He said the passengers are absolutely helpless at the airport for last 24 hours, and there was no one to listen to them and address their problem.
"Our flight was scheduled to fly at 10pm on November 2, 2012 from Jeddah to Peshawar, however now it is 10pm of November 3 and yet no new schedule has been given by the airline. Passengers of Shaheen Airline urged the President, Prime Minister, Pakistan Hajj Mission and other officials concerned to take notice of the delay and make arrangements for their safe return.
