Jamaat-e-Islami leader dies

An elderly leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami and close associate of Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maudoodi, Maulana Minhajuddin, expired at Karak, on Monday. Maulana Minhajuddin was the foremost political prisoner in the country's history and was detained for holding a public meeting in connection with the Objectives Resolution in 1948.
He remained the chief of the JI, Karak, he has been heading the Markaze Uloom Islamia, Mansoora for years. Ameer, JI, Syed Munawar Hasan, Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch and Director, Islamic Research Academy, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, have expressed deep grief over the demise of Maulana Minhuajuddin. They have paid homage to the late Maulana for his valuables services.
