Partly Facetious: The tuck shop of Malik's brother

06 Nov, 2012

"Moon Star Tuck shop?"
"What?"
"Rehman Malik's brother was allegedly operating a tuck shop named Moon Star."
"That shows love for this country."
"How did you figure that?"
"Our flag has a moon and a star in it."
"So does the flag of many Muslim countries, I mean a sickle moon and a star is the emblem most associated with Islamic countries."
"So Malik's brother is a firm believer."
"Don't be facetious now."
"There is a moon and star budget hotel in Ghana."
"Well, a tuck shop is not quite high end."
"And what made you think the budget hotel in Ghana is high end?"
"Good point anyway why are you talking about this tuck shop?"
"Tuck shops are normally associated with poor clients. However, if it's in a park it can be rather lucrative."
"So?"
"The tuck shop of Malik's brother was in Shalimar park and the court ordered that the tuck shop be vacated as it was allotted without due diligence. He allegedly set up a kiosk in the park illegally and a petition by one of those who used to walk in the park was filed."
"And I heard the petitioner accused Malik's brother of a beating by the hired hands."
"Indeed, but you should revisit your statement. If only the powers that be, stick to flawed allotment of tuck shops then I think we can bear the cost of their political greed as a nation."
"But still..."
"There is no but and no still, we as a nation should not only be grateful to the father Malik for ensuring that his children were driven to improve their lot through education, I mean if we are to believe Zulfiqar Mirza, Fehmida Mirza's husband, the father of the two Malik brothers was a barber and you and I know that there are few opportunities for people to come out of poverty so effectively in this country."
"And secondly?"
"And secondly there has been a rapprochement between the two parties and so I believe the court case maybe withdrawn."
"I see."
