Air Marshal Khalid Choudhry (Retd), took over the charge of Director General, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Pakistan here on Monday. Air Marshal Khalid Choudhry (Retd) earned his Wings from PAF Academy, Risalpur in April, 1974. His aviation career includes more than 3,500 flying hours, primarily on fighter assignments on the F-86, F-7 and F-16 aircraft.
He commanded an F-16 Squadron a fighter Flying Wing, Combat Commander's School, PAF Base Mushaf and the Central Air Command of PAF. His staff and other assignments include tenure as Deputy Director (Ops) at Air Headquarters, Project Director F-16 Programme, Inspector General Air Force, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (E&L), Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Support) and Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Operations).
Air Marshal Khalid Choudhry (Retd) also served as Chairman, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Board Kamra. Air Marshal Khalid Choudhry (Retd) is an alumni of Air War College and the Royal College of Defence Studies, UK. For his meritorious services the Government of Pakistan conferred on the Air Marshal the Hilal in Order of Imtiaz (Military), and Tamgha-e-Basalat. He is married and has three children.-PR
