07 Nov, 2012

A division bench of Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Tuesday ordered police authorities to ensure early recovery of Dr Saeed Ahmed Khan, an eye specialist who was abducted from the provincial capital by unidentified men in October last.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Justice Qazi Faez Essa resumed hearing of Dr Saeed Ahmed Khan's abduction case here. Capital City Police Officer Mir Zubair Mehmood and Deputy Inspector
General (Investigation) Hamid Shakeel apprised the court of measures being taken for safe recovery of the kidnapped eye specialist. On the occasion, they also submitted a detailed report on incidents of kidnapping for ransom across the province.
In its earlier hearing on October 23 last, the bench had expressed deep resentment over non-recovery of Dr Saeed Ahmed Khan and directed the provincial Home Secretary and Capital City Police Officer for taking concrete measures for safe recovery.
The Home Secretary and CCPO had assured the court that law enforcements agencies officials had conducted raids on various locations and the abducted doctor would soon be recovered.
